Dogs are :
Pack Oriented
Give unconditional love
Live in the moment
Dogs are naturally pack oriented- as are we! In the wild, a dog will look to the pack leader for its needs-in domestication, a dog who finds a human as a pack leader is a fantastic member of the family! Dogs love to do a job in the wild- and they will work for us if we only ask them. The best part of it all? You will never hear a complaint from your furry friend about having to fetch the newspaper.
Unconditional love is something that dog owners never go without. There is nothing better than walkiing in the door and being greeted by a wagging tail and a happy heart. Your dog doesnt care what your wearing, or if your face broke out the night before, or if your bank account is empty. They just love you- because you are a part of their pack. This can be hard to find in our human counterparts! The power of the pack is amazing...you certainly wont find this in the, often opinionated, house cat. What things dogs can teach us about caring for others!
Canines live in the moment. It shocks me how, a dog who has been physically and mentally abused, can still find faith in humans. It is astounding that a dog that was hit by a car yesterday, can still live in the moment today. Dogs dont spend their days being emotionally tormented about what happened last week. They dont worry about the future either. They take life, one day at a time. With each day comes new opportunities, It is a new day. Our canine counterparts understand this, why cant we? Too often we create our own problems; we are our own worst enemy-- carrying harmful baggage, and living in the future while our present days fall into the past before we get a chance to recognize them. Dogs have a lot to teach us -- and they are always happy to do it!
