Pits don't get to make mistakes

Today I wanted to discuss a certain issue that is found within our community regarding Pit Bulls and other bully or working class breeds, such as the Doberman, Rotti and Shepherd. These breeds are often seen in our society as intimidating, scary or aggressive animals, who would rather fight and cause harm than play. In most cases, this is a misconception formed by the acts of uneducated owners and witness by others. These breeds can be difficult for passive human energy to handle, but when given exercise, boundaries, and affection by a confident human, these canines will most definitely become the best companions in the world. That being said, because of the unfortunate stigma of these breeds, it is important for us as owners to set higher training standards. These breeds dont get to make any mistakes. period. A moment of weakness to engage in instinctual behaviors (as dogs do), such as playing too rough and causing an injury, chasing the neighbor's cat, or misinterpreting human or canine energy and biting another dog will , in most cases, end up in a court battle and possible euthanasia of bully breed in question, while smaller, less intimidating canines usually get off the hook, because "they were playing too hard", or "not feeling well today". Our bullies need to learn to go away from a canine skirmish at a dog park, not into them. they also need to know to be aware of small children as well as have above basic commands taught to them. In doing this, we ensure their safety and tear down false paradigms.
